Full Membership

  • The only path to IACA membership is via an existing national, regional, or larger geographical umbrella cardiac, thoracic, vascular anesthesia or intensive care society or special interest group, or related specialty organization representing clinicians involved in the care of cardiac surgery patients. Membership as an individual and not via a national or larger geographical umbrella society is not currently available. In the absence of such an entity, IACA membership can be obtained by joining an affiliated IACA member society. The IACA may recognize a number of entities in geographic regions of the world where there are multiple existing societies or special interest groups. The path to full membership of entities requires the adoption of IACA bylaws, including annual membership dues.

Limited Membership

  • A limited membership option can be granted for entities that wish to join IACA without paying membership dues. This limited membership path requires approval by the BOD on an individual basis. The membership dues will be waived for 2 years, after which an entity can transition to the full membership model, or apply for another 2-year limited membership extension. Limited membership to IACA excludes representation on the BOD and associated rights such as voting rights and any geographical pricing-adjusted member benefits. Limited membership entities will be recognized as members of IACA on the IACA web page and qualify for any non-adjusted member benefits.
